TOTAL TUITION COSTS & FEES FOR THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR


For the Lower School

Kindergarten through third grade – $10,500

Fourth grade through fifth grade - $13,250

Sixth grade through eighth grade – $15,250

Kindergarten through eighth grade total tuition cost includes the following:

  • Tuition
  • Textbooks, workbooks, course readings
  • Yearbook (one per family)
  • Selected activities fee
  • Student accident insurance (see Parent-Student Handbook for details)
  • Selected off-campus service programs
  • Selected field-trips
  • Sports programs (excluding ice hockey)

Graduation Fee - $225
Sibling Discount - $500 for the second child and $1,000 for each additional child
Mothers' and Fathers' Club Dues - $125 for the first child and $115 for each additional child


For the Upper School

Freshman through senior year - $17,800, which includes the following:
  • Tuition
  • Textbooks, workbooks, course readings
  • Yearbook
  • General Student Activities (GSA) fee
  • Student accident insurance (see Parent-Student Handbook for details)
  • Selected off-campus service programs
  • Selected field trips
  • Selected sports programs (excluding ice hockey)
Graduation Fee - $300

Advanced Placement Course Fee - $105 (per course)

International Student Fee (grades K-12) - $5,000 (annually) 


AVAILABLE  TUITION  PAYMENT PLANS:

  • PLAN A: Full Payment
  • The total tuition cost is due by July 5. Scholarship and/or financial aid will be deducted from the total tuition cost.
  • PLAN B: Semester Payments
  • One-half of the total tuition cost is due by July 5, and the second half is due by December 5. Scholarship and/or financial aid will be divided equally and applied to both semester payments.
  • PLAN C: 10 Monthly Payments
  • The total tuition cost is due in ten equal installments, beginning July 5 and ending April 5 of the following year. Scholarship and/or financial aid will be divided equally among the ten payments.


GAEL GRANTS (UPPER SCHOOL ONLY): 

Gael Grants, which are limited by available resources, are awarded to those families whose TADS applications demonstrate the greatest financial need.  To apply, Upper School families would create an account, complete an application, and send tax return documents to www.TADS.com   All applications, information and questions must be sent and addressed to TADS (not Iona Prep).  The Iona Prep Upper School Code is 32065.  There is an application fee of $34.  If you need assistance with the TADS website, the customer service phone number is 800-477-8237. 


Deadline for incoming freshmen to apply is December 1, 2018.

Please note the very important Gael Grant dates and information below:
  • Incoming freshman families should apply to TADS between October 1st and no later than December 1st.     
  • Current Upper School families should apply to TADS between February 1,2019 and no later than March 31,2019.
  • Transferring students to the Upper School may apply for a Gael Grant through TADS.  As with current families the time frame for filling is February 1st and no later than March 31st.
  • Applications received by TADS after the due date will NOT be reviewed.
  • Only applications that have been completed with TADS will be reviewed.
  • Gael Grants are offered on a first- come-first -serve basis.
  • You must re-apply every year for a Gael Grant. Each year a new TADS application must be filed for you to be reconsidered for a Gael Grant.
  • There is no guarantee of assistance. Current families will receive financial assistance decisions by May 15, 2019.
Academic Merit Scholarships (Upper School only):

Students applying to the Upper School for their freshman year with excellent 6th, 7th and 8th grade academic records, who score in the top 10% of an admission test, and who have outstanding recommendations, may qualify for Merit Scholarship and be placed in our STEP (High Honors) or Honors Program.  Incoming freshmen will be notified of Scholarship and Honors placement in their January Acceptance Letter.

Catholic Elementary School Employee Grant - CESEG (Upper School only):

Iona Prep offers grants to Catholic elementary school full-time employees who work for the Archdiocese of New York and Bridgeport, CT.  All candidates must file a financial aid application with TADS (see above) within the required time frame.  A letter signed by employee's elementary school principal must be submitted confirming full-time for at least one year and stating employment for the next school year. Parents will need to reapply for this grant yearly, with both a new financial assistance application and an updated letter. 

Please note that the Catholic Elementary School Employee Grant (CESEG) is awarded with certain conditions:

  1. If a student is currently receiving financial assistance and/or an academic scholarship equaling or more than the CESEG (half tuition), the family must elect to receive either the financial assistance package/academic scholarship combination or the Catholic Elementary School Employee Grant.
  2. If a student is currently receiving financial assistance and/or an academic scholarship and when combined is less than the CESEG (half tuition), the family will receive the difference between the two in addition to the financial assistance package/academic scholarship combination.
