Mitchell, Jr. '83, P'17,'21 named one of Forbes 2018 Best-in-State Wealth Advisors
With a financial services career spanning more than 30 years, alumnus Barry Mitchell, Jr. '83, P'17,'21 was recently ranked the No. 17 wealth advisor in New York State according to Forbes. He was appointed a managing director in 2016, the highest rank a financial advisor can attain within UBS, and is currently a senior portfolio manager in the UBS Portfolio Management Program, overseeing $500 million in assets.
Mitchell is eminently qualified in his role as trusted advisor to help clients navigate every type of market environment, having earned multiple industry certifications, including Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®), Chartered Retirement Plans SpecialistSM (CRPS®), Chartered Advisor of Philanthropy and Retirement Plan Consultant. In 2018, Mitchell was selected as a member of the FA Advisory Council.
Barry joined UBS in 2011. He re-located his wealth management team, Mitchell WealthCare, from New York City to White Plains in January 2016 to better serve the needs of his clients in Westchester County. Prior to joining UBS, Barry spent nearly a decade at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and served in other senior roles at Wachovia Securities, Dean Witter Reynolds and Oppenheimer & Co.
Mitchell is a lifelong Westchester resident and now resides in Rye, NY with his wife, Lis, and three children; Barry III '17, Margaret and John '21. He graduated from Boston College in 1987 with a bachelor's in finance and marketing.
