Students 'Striding to Saves Lives' this Saturday to Benefit the Lexington Center
The Student-Faculty Council Wellness Committee will host its annual "Stride to Save Lives" Walk-A-Thon this Saturday, April 29, from 3 - 5 p.m. to benefit the Lexington Center for Recovery in New Rochelle. Taking place at Wellington T. Mara Field, the walk is yet another way the Wellness Committee is aiding the local program for recovering mothers and their preschool children.
The annual Walk-A-Thon is a joint venture between the Wellness Committee at Iona Prep and The Ursuline School's SAAD Club. In addition to the walk itself, there will be KanJam, water balloon fights and more fun games and activities that create a true "field day" atmosphere on Mara Field.
Proceeds from the day will benefit the Generations Program of the Lexington Center for Recovery in New Rochelle, which serves recovering mothers and their preschool children.
Service hours are available to Iona Prep students for participating in one or more portions of Saturday's program, including collecting pledges for the Walk-A-Thon. There is a minimum contribution of $5 to participate.
