Derek Jackson '89, a first-year law student at SUNY Buffalo, was recently profiled by LawCrossing.com and talked about his family's struggle to overcoming political turmoil in their native Ghana.After completing his Master of Business Administration in 2009 and working as a paralegal for the past several years, Derek Jackson '89 is pursuing a degree at Buffalo Law this fall.
Jackson holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and has been working as a paralegal for such firms as Allstate and JPMorgan Chase. He also worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom (the world's largest law firm) in 1998, where he ran into John Fleming '88, who was an attorney there.
